If I am assigned a carrel, I agree to the following:

 

1.  The library is not responsible for the loss of any personal items.

            2.  Only library material which has been properly checked out to

                 the carrel occupant may be stored in the cabinet. 

            3.  No additional locks may be placed on the cabinet doors.

            4.  No drinks or food may be stored in the carrel.

            5.  No food may be consumed in the carrel area.  Drinks in spill-proof containers are allowed.

6.  Carrels are to be used for reading and research only.   Study rooms will be used for

     conversation or discussion.

            7.  Library staff have the right to periodically inspect the contents of carrel cabinets.

8.  Storage of non-circulating library materials (journals, reserves, reference books) in carrel

     cabinets will result in a permanent loss of carrel privileges

            9.  Carrel occupants are responsible for the cost of lost or replacement keys ($50)

          10. Keys not returned by the deadline above will be considered lost and

                 the carrel occupant will be charged accordingly ($50).

          11. Receiving or making wireless phone calls on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the library is

                prohibited.  Ringers are to be turned off prior to entering the library.
