| Our Lady of the Lake Univeristy of San Antonio was founded by the Congregation of the Sisters of Divine Providence, a religious order begun in 18th century Lorraine, France, for the education of the poor. |

| 1866 | • | Members of the Congregation arrived in Texas. They initially established themselves in Austin. | |
| 1868 | • | Then in Castroville. | |
| 1873 | • | First convent constructed in Castroville. | |
| 1895 | • • | Our Lady of the Lake Academy was founded by the Sisters of the Congregation of Divine Providence.
Construction began on the main campus of Our Lady of the Lake College. | |
| 1896 | • | Educational programs were under way. | |
| 1906 | • | Construction started on St. Ann's Hall. Construction finished in 1907. | |
| 1911 | • • | Father Henry Contantineau, OMI, became the first president of Our Lady of the Lake College.
First college program began a two-year curriculum for women. | |
| 1918 | • | Placed upon the list of approved junior colleges of the first class by the State Board of Examiners. | |
| 1919 | • | The curriculum was expanded to four years and the institution was admitted to membership in the Texas Association of Colleges. | |
| 1923 | • • | First institution of higher education to receive regional accreditation.
Became member of the Southern Association. | |
| 1927 | • | Became the third Texas school to be approved by the American Association of Universities. | |
| 1929 | • | St. Martin Hall constructed as facility for practice teaching in elementary school. | |
| 1931 | • | Became member of the Association of American Univeristy Women. | |
| 1937 | • | Metz Hall (science bldg) built as a facility for physics, chemistry, biology, and home economics. | |
| 1942 | • • | Graduate study began and was coeducational from its inception.
OLLU's Worden School of Social Service was the first school of social work in Texas. | |
| 1948 | • | Worden School of Social Service began construction. | |
| 1955 | • | OLLU established the first program in Communication Disorders in South Texas. | |
| 1965 | • | Established the first program in bilingual education for teachers in South Texas. | |
| 1967 | • | Began Project Teacher Excellence I, Texas' first bilingual teacher training program. | |
| 1969 | • | All programs became fully coeducational. | |
| 1975 | • | The name of the institution was changed from Our Lady of the Lake College to Our Lady of the Lake University of San Antonio. | |
| 1978 | • • | Sr. Elizabeth Anne Sueltenfuss, CDP, became the first female president.
The University introduced the Weekend College concept at the San Antonio campus. | |
| 1979 | • | Armadillo becomes official school mascot. | |
| 1986 | • | OLLU began offering Weekend Degree programs in Houston. | |
| 1990 | • | Started to offer a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree program in counseling psychology accredited through the American Psychological Association (APA). | |
| 1994 | • | OLLU began offering Weekend Degree programs in Dallas. | |
| 1995 | • • | Established a Bachelor of Science (BS) and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree
program in E-commerce in Texas.

| 1998 | • | Established a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program in electronic commerce management in San Antonio. | |
| 2000 | • | Opening of Sr. Elizabeth Anne Sueltenfuss Library. | |
| 2002 | • | Started to offer an on-line Master Technology Teacher Program. | |
| 2004 | • | Tessa Martinez-Pollack inaugurated first Hispanic president at OLLUSA. | |
